You may disagree, but then again, you aren’t in my brain…

The AC wakes up Dirk when he naps.  We live in the freaking-god-forsaken desert and it gets quite toasty.  So when D’s door to his little room is closed, it gets drafty… even if the rest of the house still feels blazing hot-I’m not kidding-I sweat 24/7- remember it is my glow : ).  So for the past couple of days I have turned off the AC when he goes down for his nap at 10AM and 2PM(like clockwork I tell-yah).  Let’s just say I “survived” and Dirk slept blissfully… so this is what I’m working with throughout the rest of summer…. haaazzzzaaaahhhhhh

The Bachelorette kicked off the condescending (fill-in-the-blank)… THANKGOODENSS.  Love Jef and Shawn as matches for Emily.  Really hope she finds her lifetime love- fingers crossed.  Once again I got to paint my nails, toenails and just relax… thank you babe.

Purple.  This is my favorite color for just about anything.  Dirk has purple(lavender??? maybe) socks, purple shirts, dress shirts… My cars have all been purple.  Purple 1990 Sundance. Purple 1985 Toyota Pickup.  Now I drive a purple 2001 Altima.  The Altima was supposed to be an almost black/is that purple? color…. and it turned out to be an OHMYGOD that is a PURPLE car.  Makes me giggle when I see it.  More times than I can count I have been wearing a purple top, dress, outfit and upon exiting my PURPLE car bystanders can’t help but to comment… “I bet purple is your favorite color.” Yes.  Yes it is.

Dirk lost three pounds this month. THREE POUNDS.  Not like he was skinny, but that sounds like a ton considering he was just 26 lbs strong. So now my little man is 23 lbs.  My back is thanking me-I just know it.  He moves so much these days that I wouldn’t be surprised if he lost another pound.  His appetite has not faltered- three solid food meals a day- mum mum crackers, sweet potato and banana crackers-four bottles of milk- bigtime foodie.  Everything I can make at home, I do.  I have the system down pat and our checkbook is thanking us.

Gabe and I are going to be Aunt and Uncle’s soon.  I CAN’T FREAKING WAIT.  My little sister is due at the end of the month but my first official guess is June 15th… so we are on BABYWATCH 2012.  If that date comes and passes I will re-evaluate the date I think my sweet baby niece will be born.  Watch out world- Makena is going to bring the CUTENESS.

I miss WA each day.  Not WA in its’ entirety, but my Mom, lil sis Rachel, the rest of the fam and the cooler temps.  Dirk loved the trees, the company, the puppy dog and being snuggled up in fleece.  He got to wear long sleeve tops, sweatpants, and fleece- he thought that was the magic fabric… Poor guy is stuck in his cloth diaper and onesie.  OH and he is highly allergic to cats.  Gabe and I both have tons of allergies and we hoped our little one would be spared.  Alas, he now breaks out in hives if he comes into contact with cat hair.  Even just a little bit of it.  FYI we have a long-haired cat.  It is 115 degrees out.  She sheds.  A LOT.  The reactions have been tending to get worse with each occurrence.  He didn’t react at all with my family’s dog in WA- thankgoodness- but cats are a whole-nother story.  Worried that this is progressive… Baby Girl may need to find a new home.  Hoping that there is a better option or it stops getting worse.

In two weeks I get to have two of my best friend’s come and stay again… I AM EXCITED!  I miss them so much!  They are also giving Gabe and I the gift of a date night.  Avengers here we come!  Hawkeye…. you are a sight for sore eyes ; ).  Thanks Girl’s! <3 You have been there through everything- love you!

And with that Gabe and I are enjoying Love in the Wild… cheesy reality show that is easy to have on in the background… supposedly the couples from last year are still together… I still like Bachelor/Bachelorette better(sorry Rach).
