Munchkin Meals

First time participating in Munchkin Meals with the fabulous Brittany over at a Healthy Slice of Life. My goal is to make sure Dirk gets loads of veggies in each and every day.  He can be a very picky eater from day-to-day loving something he hated the day before- keeps me on my toes : ).

Breakfast: Water, Broccoli, Gerber Organic Pouch(a fave around here). He literally just started holding his own bottles… lame I know- the laziest baby on the planet- yet he obviously eats well because he is 31 lbs strong.

Snack: 8 ounce bottle of milk.

Lunch: Water, corn on the cob(so much fun to watch), Gerber puffs and Mum Mums.

Snack: 8 ounce bottle of milk and five spoonfuls of Chobani Greek Yogurt- delicious, nutritious and the messiest! Plus a small handfull of Gerber Puffs.

Dinner: Water, watermelon squares, squash, apricots, and blueberries.

What? The spoon on the floor?! Wasn’t me Mom…

How to have a picky eater inhale squash? Add blueberries.

Late Night Snack: 8 ounce bottle of milk.

Thank you Brittany for hosting this great Link-Up for Mom’s!  I love getting new ideas for meals and snacks each week for Dirk… now I just need to start with meat… where to begin?  Any ideas?  Help please!

Reality Check

Monday night I had a heart “episode”.  I have a heart murmur.  My heart recirculates 30% of the blood between two valves.  Regurgitation is what they call it.  Palpitations, chest pain, and heart flutters are a normality for me.

Monday night was different.  The pain didn’t go away.

Several blood tests, EKG’s and some much needed nitrates at the hospital.

One very understanding neighbor came and stayed at our house for six hours while our little one slept.

I feel “sick” still.  No doctor has been able to figure out why this happens.  So as my chest feels like our toddler is sitting on me, I am taking the next couple of days just to be.  Just be.

Recover.

And enjoy every second that I am able to be with my family.

Every. Single. One.
