Nuby Oral Care Set Review

Nuby Oral Care Set
Starting oral health care early on is incredibly important! When The Toddler got his first tooth over a year and a half ago we started brushing his teeth.  I would have loved to have the soft-gel like finger brush for him!
Em loves brushing her first little tooth that has started to break through!

Helping ease a teething baby’s gums? Priceless my dears.  Absolutely priceless.

With The Toddler we let him brush his teeth while we sing the Raffi song-titled simply- Brush Your Teeth- and then we help make sure all of his pearly whites got equal attention.  I am 29 years young and have yet to have a cavity!  I am hoping that by starting young-just like my Mom- that we can help promote healthy teeth and gums for our little ones for the years to come!

Family Update

Where to start?

Well, I feel like I have been absent from this little space for far too long.

I blame it on germs.

For over two months at least one of us has been sick.  Taking care of a sick baby and a sick toddler is one thing.  Doing so while going through two bouts of mastitis-one that I let go for over a month because I thought it was just supposed to be that hard and AWFUL(mom’s know what I mean?)-strep throat, sinus infection and then a nasty flu that I got during our trip to California for the holidays.  I really, honestly can not remember a time where I felt healthy.  It truly is hard to get better when you are A. Breastfeeding and can’t take any of the good meds B. Em won’t take a bottle-AKA- for the last five months I have been solely responsible for every single feeding-and she isn’t sleeping through the night(AT ALL) C. I haven’t slept more than 3-4 hours at a time in six months. I am hoping that I am finally on the mend.  Although, Em is now catching the flu that I am just getting over and The Toddler has a nasty cough.  The lone standout in all of this?  The Husband.  He has yet to be sick(knock on wood) and is my rock.  Although Em isn’t sleeping through the night he will take both kids every Saturday and Sunday(after the second night feeding with Em) and will let me get another two hour stretch of sleep-racking up 7-8 hours on Saturday and Sunday helps. Every little bit helps.

To be honest, as I type this all of our Christmas decorations downstairs by the tree are still standing-including our eight-foot beauty.  Why??? Well, since I have been sick throughout December I never had the opportunity to take pictures with the little ones by the tree.  They are only little once and this is Em’s first Christmas so I didn’t want to miss out on this moment.  So fever and all, today I bit the bullet, took a shower-and did my hair-big deal folks-and we snapped some pictures before the kids went down for the night….

I will be back this week with Em’s Five Month Update and DIY Projects we completed this past weekend- our master bedroom is almost finished! Woohoo.  It’s the little things in life.  Happy Monday!

Em: First Foods

Goodness gracious how are we here already?  Em started rice cereal with breast milk when she was a little over four months.  She kept mimicking me when I was eating and leaning forward to try to “steal” my food.

We try a new food every four-five days.  So far rice cereal is the winner!  Sweet Potato, Green Beans, and Bananas are not-NOT-something that makes it past this little food monster.  I plan on doing homemade purees along with Baby-Led Weaning just like with The Toddler. Seriously- no wonder she is growing like a weed!  Love that she has a healthy appetite!

Now if only she would take a bottle….

Merry Christmas Eve 2013

Our Christmas Eve 2013

Quality Family Time

I want to remember these moments forever!  The Toddler absolutely-positively LOVES going to the park.  On a normal day I will wear Em in the Ergo and we will walk the two miles to the park and back in the morning-playing soccer in the fields on the way there-and then after nap time in the afternoon we will head out again. PURE JOY.

Can’t really put a price on that.

When we were in CA for three days over Christmas we hit the park daily.  A new one each day!  The Toddler had so much fun leading everyone around and exploring to his little hearts desire!  Some of the slides were extremely fast in the early morning(they still had dew on them).

There may be a lot of pictures in the next couple of days.  But this blog is first and foremost for us to have as a virtual memory book.  Thank you for all of your sweet emails and comments!  Can’t wait to see what 2014 holds for us!
