39 Weeks Pregnant: Baby #2

  • How far along are you? 39 weeks…..
  • How I’m feeling: Large. Sweaty. Heavy. Hobbit feet. I have short energy bursts… Very short, and I can not wait until my mom gets here so the toddler can get some quality time with someone who has energy… Nana you can not get here fast enough.
  • Total weight gain: 20 pounds of water weight added on in the last two weeks… Happened last time with the Toddler, my OB is not concerned in the least because I lost all of that water weight in mere days when D was born.  I really, really hate when I step on the scale at the office and they only click over to the 100 lb mark- as if I was under 150 pounds….. I am not anywhere near 150…. But those stats are for a future post. They say I don’t look as much as I weigh…. And yet I am giving Kim K. A run for her money in the rear end race. Bring it Kim.
  • How big is baby?  The Little One is the size of a watermelon. A WATERMELON. Hence why I now speak whale fluently.
  • Maternity clothes:  SAME The black pants I bought when I was pregnant with the Toddler are way too darn tight on the belly. Yes, they are not maternity- but gosh darn it- they are my go-to pants for when my ankles swell like melons-because nobody needs to see that at Target- nobody.  Sports bras, snug black yoga pants are about it- unless I have to look “respectable” and then I try my darndest to fit into one of the two maternity dresses I bought. But at 120 degrees outside- there really is no comfortable clothes in the universe that would make me feel better.
  • Stretch marks? SAME-Heredity messed up on this one.  Even in college if any muscle got bigger I would get stretchmarks. No questions asked.  BAM there they would be.  With D- for some reason the Belly God’s thought they would mercifully let the belly be stretch-mark free.  I am not holding my breath for two-for-two.  But one can hope.
  • Sleep: SAME I wake up about six-seven times a night. Clocking in at about 3-4 hours of sleep. Zombie Mom over here.
  • Best moment this week:  We are four days away from holding our Baby Girl.
  • Movement: Other than the fact that I am sure I have some internal bleeding. SAME-Yes- especially at night- and whenever I hold the Toddler- sibling rivalry at its finest folks.  She kicks and punches at him with all her might. It would be precious if it wasn’t so painful.
  • Food cravings: None.
  • Food aversions: Anything too hot temperature wise, tuna, eggs…
  • Labor signs:  Contractions. Real ones…. They just never last longer than ten minutes. But I have scared the crap out of the toddler and husband- extremely painful contractions = screaming pregnant lady. Oh joy. Oh and I know pain. 26 hours of labor. 2 gel packs. 3 bags of Pitocin. Contractions off the charts for 12 hours. The epidural did NOT work. 2 inch tear. Yep. So when the contractions hit, and they hurt, and I whimper in pain- I know that I am not being a “wimp”.
  • Belly button in or out:  SAME In- but looking like it might pop out- it just disappeared with D- so that would be interesting.
  • What I miss:  SAME-Not having a round face- le sigh- ah well comes with the territory for me. Not being a whale. Not being too hot.
  • What I’m looking forward to:  Holding our Baby Girl. Seeing Nana. Watching the toddler become a big brother. I CAN’T WAIT.

I am being induced on Friday. People have asked if I am scared about being induced again? Nope. I know what to expect, worst case scenario the epidural-if necessary won’t work again- and I know that the pain is worth it- BIG TIME.

36 Weeks Bumpdate

  • How far along are you? 36 Weeks Along- NINE MONTHS BABY
  • How I’m feeling: You should hear me speak whale. I am an expert. I am large, hot all the time, swollen, and can’t breath if I walk up or down the stairs. To say that I was counting down the seconds to our baby girl’s arrival would be the understatement of the century. Although, she does need to cook for another week. So stay put little one.  I can take the heat.
  • Total weight gain: Bahahahaha. I ignore the scale now. I am still in a healthy range but dang do those numbers scare the crap out of me.
  • How big is baby?  The Little One is the size of a pumpkin.  A PUMPKIN. Hence why I now speak whale fluently.
  • Maternity clothes:  The black pants I bought when I was pregnant with the Toddler are way too darn tight on the belly. No questions asked.  BAM there they would be.  With D- for some reason the Belly God’s thought they would mercifully let the belly be stretch-mark free.  I am not holding my breath for two-for-two.  But one can hope.
  • Sleep: I wake up about six-seven times a night. Clocking in at about 3-4 hours of sleep. Zombie Mom over here.
  • Best moment this week:  One week closer to full-term.
  • Movement: Other than the fact that I am sure I have some internal bleeding. SAME-Yes- especially at night- and whenever I hold the Toddler- sibling rivalry at its finest folks.  She kicks and punches at him with all her might. It would be precious if it wasn’t so painful.
  • Food cravings: After 9PM it is a strawberry milkshake, fries and a large ice cold diet coke.
  • Food aversions: Anything too hot temperature wise.
  • Labor signs:  Extreme BH contractions after strenuous exercise.  So I am supposedly “toning it down” on Doctor’s Orders. Now if you could explain that to my hyper-active Toddler that would be lovely.
  • Belly button in or out:  SAME In- but looking like it might pop out- it just disappeared with D- so that would be interesting.
  • What I miss:  SAME-Not having a round face- le sigh- ah well comes with the territory for me. Not being a whale. Not being too hot.
  • What I’m looking forward to:  FULL TERM NEXT WEEK.

Six Months Pregnant with Baby #2

042
Taken after my first echo- I look as tired as I feel.
  • How far along are you? 24 Weeks Along- SIX MONTHS BABY
  • How I’m feeling: Like I can’t catch my breath.  I have been ordered to take it easy and I am trying to slow down as much as possible- but with the Toddler sometimes( all the time) that’s not really an option.
  • Total weight gain: About 10 lbs so far.
  • How big is baby?  The Little One is the size of a melon.  She is over a foot long too!
  • Maternity clothes:  SAME-Yes. Yes. Yes.  Sure I can fit easily into any of my pre-pregnancy pants-shorts-tops-but I don’t want to be uncomfortable in the least as I chase(herd) the Toddler.  So yoga pants, Old Navy Rockstar Skinny Jeans, Cotton tops and the belly band!-more on that in a sec.
  • Sleep: I wake up around 3AM to go to the bathroom and chug water like it is my job. ALWAYS thirsty. ALWAYS.
  • Best moment this week:  Being able to see her from the outside.  Especially when she has hiccups- poor thing.
  • Movement: Yes- especially at night- and whenever I hold the Toddler- sibling rivalry at its finest folks.  She kicks and punches at him with all her might. It would be precious if it wasn’t so painful.
  • Food cravings: Eh- food is just food.  I don’t have cravings…. except for TWIX and OLIVE GARDEN = GET IN MY BELLY!
  • Food aversions: Meh. Nothing sounds good except for the above mentioned.
  • Labor signs:  None.
  • Belly button in or out: In- but looking like it might pop out- it just disappeared with D- so that would be interesting.
  • What I miss:  SAME-Not having a round face- le sigh- ah well comes with the territory for me.
  • What I’m looking forward to:  Our last ultrasound- probably around 28 weeks?
  • Milestone: Seeing movement from the outside : )

22 Week Picture Update

TADA- 22 WEEKS- Large & IN CHARGE!!!

20 Weeks

043

  • How far along are you? 20 Weeks Along- We are half-way there!

  • How I’m feeling: Well- nesting is in full-force.  The belly gets in the way now.  And D being 34 lbs makes for one heck of a work out- plus the 3 miles walks-park time- backyard water play and the essential herding of said Toddler keeps me very, very active.  I hit a wall around 6PM- and the wall caves down on me around 9PM.

  • Total weight gain: 6-7lbs. Very different than with D.  No time to rest-or sit for that matter with this pregnancy.

  • How big is baby?  The Little One is the size of a banana.  Getting bigger each and every day!

  • Maternity clothes:  (Same) Yes. Yes. Yes.  Sure I can fit easily into any of my pre-pregnancy pants-shorts-tops-but I don’t want to be uncomfortable in the least as I chase(herd) the Toddler.  So yoga pants, Old Navy Rockstar Skinny Jeans, Cotton tops and the belly band!

  • Stretch marks? (Same) Heredity messed up on this one.  Even in college if any muscle got bigger I would get stretchmarks. No questions asked.  BAM there they would be.  With D- for some reason the Belly God’s thought they would mercifully let the belly be stretch-mark free.  I am not holding my breath for two-for-two.  But one can hope.

  • Sleep: I get up 2-3 times a night.  Wake up no matter what at 5AM- and D changed his morning wake-up from 8:30AM- 7AM- so sleep is futile at this point.

  • Best moment this week:  Getting D’s big boy room finished- now we just need another crib.  We found another crib mattress- just need another crib.

  • Movement: Tons- she keeps me up at night- but its a good feeling!

  • Food cravings: Nothing.

  • Food aversions: Chocolate.

  • Labor signs:  None.

  • Belly button in or out: In.

  • What I miss: Sleep.  But its nothing that I can’t handle.

  • What I’m looking forward to:  Seeing our baby girl in the future ultrasound!

  • Milestone: 20 weeks and we are having a BABY GIRL!
