Very Inspiring Blogger Award

So honored to announce that As Cute as a Bug’s Ear has been nominated for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award! This blogger award is given by bloggers to other fellow bloggers who keep the blogishere a beautiful place.

Once you get nominated, there are a few rules to follow, which include:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you. (Thank you Megan & JoAnn at A Whimsicle Life for nominating me!)
2.  List the rules and display the award.
3.  Share 7 facts about yourself.
4. Nominate other amazing blogs and comment on their blog to let them know you nominated them.

Seven facts about As Cute as a Bug’s Ear:

1.  The blog’s name is derived from a saying that my grandmother used when we were growing up. And no, bug’s do not have ears. :)
2.  I am a former teacher and high school coach. I miss teaching-but nothing is as fulfilling as teaching my own children.
3.  The blog started as an online baby book, documenting my pregnancy and the first year of my children’s lives. Now it has grown into a creative outlet that I am proud of and hopefully will continue to grow with our family.
4.  I’ve painted every room of our house, the exterior of our two story house, and I’ve fixed and installed four major appliances. DIY in training. Plus I could never pay thousands for someone to do what I can do. I’m cheap like that.
5.  I’ve had over 100 stitches, ribs popped out of place, and one measly broken toe.
6.  I blog when my children are sleeping- so on no nap days- that means from 9PM-Midnight- and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
7.  I am going to my first major Blog Conference in a few weeks and I am equal parts nervous and excited.  I know I will learn so much from other fabulous bloggers-but socially it is frightening putting myself out there.

I am so excited to nominate my fellow bloggers! All of these lovely ladies are fabulous and very deserving of the award.

Our Little Girl

Baby Girl’s Sprinkle

Our Baby Girl certainly is blessed to have such lovely women in her life already!  My dear friends hosted a Sprinkle last weekend and I enjoyed every single moment with them!

The invitations were ADORABLE- and had little “sprinkles” that fell out when you opened up the card : ).

A couple of days before the event I received a package and low and behold there was a note with this BEAUTIFUL(and comfy-so key right now) dress- seriously… how can I be so lucky?!? My friends really do know how to pamper!

Our Little One is going to be one well-dressed lady! She has an amazing array of outfits for me to choose from!!! Even those out of town sent packages to Aunt Tina for our Baby Girl.  One lucky little lady!

During the Sprinkle there was even a small craft session where they finished up a project they were working on…. In the background you can see the champagne flutes that held a signature drink-complete with purple straws(my favorite color), melt in your mouth cupcakes with decorated plates and more adorable baby decorations!

VOILA! This my dear readers can not be found on Pinterest-this creation was thought up by my dear friend Becca- here she is holding her masterpiece! It is hanging in our Little One’s nursery as we speak. I may or may not have cried a couple of times so far as I walk into her room when I see that hanging in the corner- all of Little One’s “Aunts” are quite thoughtful and special.

This is from The Toddler’s Baby Shower- check out that decor in the background- yes my friends made that for our family too- just wanted to show you how darn thoughtful they are!

-September 2011-

To my dear friends,

Thank you so much for being there for me!  I am so glad that we all met Freshman year of college.  You mean more to our family and I than you know.  My children are lucky to have a couple of extra “Aunts” around to look up to.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Thank you to all the brave men and women serving all around the world!  Uncle Bill- we are so proud of you!

The three day weekend comes with perfect timing… I finally get to rest, put my feet up and relax! Glorious I tell you!  Last night, for the first time in weeks I got more than three hours of consecutive sleep! Now if only I was freshly showered…

For the first time in years- YEARS- I get to see one of my best friends!  She is traveling to the desert from the East Coast and BOY AM I EXCITED TO SEE HER!  She gets to meet the Toddler- see our house and better yet- we get to spend quality time together! HAPPY DANCE.

I can’t quite put into words how special she is- she is one of only a few people that I could call-anytime-day or night- and she would be there for me no questions asked.  So blessed to have her in my life- and I am counting down the minutes until I get to introduce her to my little man!

Hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

Precious Date Night

While my mom was in town we got the chance to go out to dinner-just the two of us-a first time for us in about a year! We went to Olive Garden(the only thing that this pregnant lady wanted) where I scarfed down three bowls of Zuppo Toscano Soup, four pieces of bread, and my entire plate of lasagna. YUM.  The belly was happy.  PLUS- it was nice knowing that our Toddler was in the best possible hands.

Nana took D to the park, played with monster trucks and had too much fun(if that is even possible) and he didn’t even notice we were gone.  Nana- we wish you lived closer. ALL of us do. But for now we will cherish the date nights we get- even if they are once a year. <3
