As a busy mom and teacher, finding time to sort through ALL of the photos I took on our adventures the past year is near impossible. Improbable for sure. And making sure that I have a printed version of some of my FAVORITE family photos is incredibly important to me. Thankfully there is a new service by Shutterfly that helps out people like me. Can’t wait to share this fabulous new service… read on to find out more!
Shutterfly has created a Make My Book Service. You simply pick out and upload your photos from your computer or social sites and BOOM you are done. Sure you pick out the color of your book and how embellished it was… but after uploading all of my favorite photos from this past year- they uploaded FAST- I was ordering in a matter of minutes. Four to be exact.
How It Works:
1. Choose what you want: Select a book size and style. Upload your photos or entire albums from your desktop, phone, tablet, or Shutterfly account. We’ll design your book. We can even curate your best photos for you. P.S. It’s free to get started!
2. Receive your book: In as little as 3 business days, we’ll add your custom designed photo book to your account and email you to let you know it’s ready in your Shutterfly account.
3. View and order your book: Order your book as is or personalize it with your own finishing touches. The one-time $9.99 service fee is applied only once you order your finished book. To view your book or to make any edits, please use your desktop computer.
It’s as easy as that. You hardly need to invest any time (other than supplying your photos) and you only pay the design fee if you order the book.
So there you have it folks. In less than five minutes (after I batch uploaded my photos) I was on my way to adding another fabulous Shutterfly Book to our running collection. I love the quality that Shutterfly provides with their products and use them every year for holiday cards.
What are you waiting for? You need to check out this service STAT. Holiday Season is upon us and what better way than to have the Make My Book Service help in securing gifts for the grandparents? I think so.
What do you do to keep the memories?

Snack time struggles? Toddler takeovers? Been there. DONE that. I am grateful to have an arsenal of go-to items to help quell the toddler blues. Check out what I keep in the pantry that my toddler LOVES. MOM WIN.
Over the years as a parent I have found some ways to help curb those mini-meltdowns. Meal planning is key to my success and definitely staves off trying to find an option as dinner approaches. I write out my list-take a picture of it- you know just in case-and then head off to the store. I buy a TON of fresh veggies as it is one of the options that Raymond isn’t allergic to, and thankfully loves. I always try to keep the pantry stocked with healthy options and Gerber just came out with Lil’Beanies that are a perfect way for my toddler to get her extra protein during snack time.
Talk about a mom win!
Gerber Lil’ Beanies contain 2 grams of protein and 1 gram of fiber per serving. Such a healthy option that I can reach for at a moment’s notice.
Lil’ Beanies has helped create a happy snacking experience for both Em and I. Love that she can get a healthy dose of protein in during snack time.
I grabbed the Little Beanies while at our weekly trip to Target. Easy to pick-up along with all of the rest of the items on my list. LOVING all of the items on sale for Fall at Target- our house is looking quite spooky!
You can head over to your local Target to experience the snack for yourself-definitely handy to keep in the pantry.
What is one healthy snack that you always keep on hand?
Would love to hear from you!

There are not many hours in the day that I get to myself. So the cherished time that I can spend relaxing on the couch and cuddling up with Indiana Jones are precious and not to be wasted. I loved the opportunity to watch FX’s new pilot Better Things. I found myself nodding along throughout the episode and want to share some super-realistic scenes that I relate to.
The Motherhood Experience from FX’s Better Things Pilot
Everyone knows that some days as a mom are better than others. FX’s new series Better Things sheds light on those days when you’re sleep-deprived and overwhelmed – and feeling maybe… perhaps… a little less than your best.
The show centers around a Single Mother doing her best at raising her three young, daughters. I mean we all clearly do our best at parenting, and Better Things shows the more realistic side of the balance of work, motherhood, and trying to find the extra bit of time to yourself.
Is there a balance? I mean I feel like there is always something more that I could be doing. But I do know that every day I wake up and do the best I can to conquer this world that I’m living in. Being a role model to my two munchkins is incredibly important to me. And at the end of the day, on those long days, I want them to know in their hearts that I did my very best for them.
I laughed out loud at the inherent lack of privacy the mother receives… I mean they ALWAYS find you at the most inopportune times. Parenting at it’s finest.
So on the off-chance that you are able to relax this weekend- you should catch up on Better Things –it’s worth your time and goodness do we all need a laugh once in awhile.
Now read on below to enter to win this ENTIRE box of Mom Swag from FX. Just simply comment and BOOM you are entered to win!

Poolside Weekend Memories
Having to waste time with the drive, the lines, the angry shoppers, and the weather (hello triple digits) does not spell a happy start to the weekend. At least not MY weekend. Instead, waking up, making my oh-so- necessary cup of joe and the always entertaining waffles with fruit faces is a better use of my time and talents. Those Picasso faces will be cute for only so long …and they are made with a LOT of love. This time with them is EXACTLY what I crave.
The giggles, the endless amounts of sunscreen being dolloped on, and the epic cannonballs are creating lasting memories that I hope they carry with for a lifetime. I hope they understand how much it meant to me to have this time with them. That I always jumped in the pool, that there was never a “too good hair” day to mess up and that I have not one ounce of regret for the scraggly do that I always end up with after a fun-filled day in the water.
Messes Make Memories
I do my best to make trips to the store fun… scavenger hunts for the items on the list and even singing and dancing (yes, I am THAT person). But shopping and swimming will never be in the same ballpark let alone memory for my children.
LOVED the Warning- Was Necessary
Sure enough two weeks ago we ran out of toilet paper AND Kleenex. Hooray for the fact that since potty training we rarely have mistakes… but we go through SO much more toilet paper than I thought necessary. Add in a few dust storms that have us constantly reaching for the tissues and this mom was worried about messing up our critical plans- swimming.
My Google Express Haul
I prefer to save money and will ALWAYS shop the Big Box Stores for paper goods and water bottles. Money is tight and I save where I can. So being able to scroll through the usual items I get from Costco and Smart & Final on Google Express made this mom’s life just that much easier. Honestly, life is hard right now. Google Express is easy.
I no longer have to make the trek to the Big Box Stores to receive the same products I have been purchasing for years. I simply added in my Costco Card Number and BOOM received the same discount. Plus you can qualify for Free Shipping from each store depending on your purchases. So I saved time, money, gas, and my sanity. Talk about a helpful way to shop from my phone. I added in the items I wanted while rocking Emma to sleep. I literally shopped with one hand while being able to cuddle my little one as she had a rough night.
Sure I ended up covered in drool, but life is too short. I will hold her whenever she needs the extra snuggle.
Holding the Nose
So what would you do with all of that extra time? The extra gas? The extra money?
Would you use it wisely? Perhaps you should think about what memories meant the most to you and spend it doing an activity that creates those precious connections with those you hold most dear. That is exactly what I did.
That’s My Girl
Cannonballs for life.
